Jemal Harijan Story

Jemal Harijan is the owner of Vijay Hastkala, a wooden carved products shop in ludiya village near Khavda village. They exhibit an expertise in manufacturing wooden carved products. Vijay Hastkala is basically famous for its beautifully hand crafted chairs, tables, tea coasters, trays, and many more. These products are also embellished with two different colors of cotton threads.

Earlier, wooden handicrafts were not that famous but the beauty of the final products gathered customers attention. Jemal Harijan decided to continue this 300 years artwork and got learnings from Shrujan and Hunnarshala.

For the last 25 years, his workshop is located opposite to Shrujan. He has also attended several exhibitions including in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata. His whole family is engaged in the same work.

Wooden Craft

Wooden craft includes proper cutting of wood, shaping it, and texturing it. The wood is first cut into proper size and shapes. Then, the pieces are fixed together which are later polished properly. The wooden products are beautifully polished with wooden color and given final finish to them. Vijay Hastkala uses cotton of two different colors for sitting chairs and tables.
