This 300 years old traditional art form is transferred through generations. Mud artwork is also known with its another name called lippan artwork. This traditional artwork is done on a wooden base where the pattern is embellished using mud. The mud is collected from the sea banks and then turned into fine powder. The powder is then mixed with the wooden powder which is then kneaded into soft dough. The mud is rolled in thin strips which are later molded into the shape of a beautiful design. The strips are dipped into fevicol to stick them on the board.
The formed design is then decorated using mirrors, different colors, and minor details. Many different designs are formed using mud artwork with very fine beautiful patterns.
